Kitesurfing Lesson Formats

It’s up to you how you choose to learn, but if you’re a beginner we recommend starting off with some private lessons so you get the maximum time with the kite and your instructor can commit 100% to you when you need it most. Once you’ve got the basics down semi-private and group lessons are a great choice to learn new skills and push your boundaries in a safe environment.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are the quickest and best way to learn. You have the undivided attention of your instructor at all times which ensures your needs are the only thing that matters for the duration of your lesson.

We strongly recommend private lessons for children under 12, and also recommend them for beginners. Private lessons are the safest and quickest way to get on top of the basics.

Best for: Kids, beginners, learning tricks, people who learn by doing.

Semi Private Lessons

Semi private lessons are a great alternative to private lessons once you have got your basic kitesurfing skills down pat. With no more than two pupils per lesson the instructor has plenty of time to focus on your individual progression.

Depending on your skill level, the instructor will decide whether the two pupils get a kite each or one to share. For certain personality types, watching and listening while someone else learns can help you pick up and understand skills that might seem more difficult if you’re concentrating on actually doing everything yourself.

Best for: Improvers, refresher courses, people who learn by watching

Group Lessons

Kitesurfing Lessons Tarifa - Group LessonGroup lessons are great if you are with people who are at a similar level, or if you want to get a taste of kitesurfing on a budget. They’re also a great way to enjoy time with friends and family.

Group lessons may help you to pick up things by listening to the advice given to others – in a group, there is likely to a greater overall quantity of vocal tuition. Not everyone benefits equally from one-to-one tuition and if you like learning with others then group lessons could be for you.

Please note that we cannot offer group lessons for children under the age of 12 for safety reasons.

Best for: Taster sessions, budget conscious fun, people who learn by listening.
